Default Guitar body vise ?? -- What do you use

I am just after some ideas on how to hold the Guitar body on the bench while I work on the sides and ends etc.

I have heard of a kind of "Bench pipe clamp" arangement but I am not too sure what it is.

    Any ideas?

    Greg

Have a look at Sylvan Wells' website for the pipe clamp guitar holder http://www.wellsguitars.com/Articles/Guitar_Holder.htm I built one of these and they work great. Best of all you can demount it from your bench when you aren't using it.

here's my set up. No way near as classy as both of those links! It took me about half an hour to rig up, several years ago now, and has served its purpose well. That box shaped one looks pretty nice though!

My vice is more low tech....a piece of padded MDF held to bench with cam clamps. Once you find four people to help you line it up it works fine.

I went down to Carba Tec and picked up a couple of cheap Pipe clamps -
($15.00 each), a couple of bits of pipe and flanges ($10.00 the lot) (complete hardware)

NOTE: Bunnings - Would have cost about $35.00 fot the pipe etc, if they had the flanges...

So now to stick it together!
