Guitar Gallery and workspace
Hi Guys
I've been lurking and looking at some of the great work that's being done. Keep it up!
I'm a guitar enthusiast looking to create a place for guitar manufacturers to sell (maybe online, maybe in a workshop/luthier art space/gallery/coffeeshop etc..) in melbourne somewhere.. Would anyone be interested if this was to get off the ground?
BTW Has anyone heard what's happened to Belman - The guy at the local guitar shop said the've stopped production. Does anyone know if that is temporary or permanent? Surely not permanent..
Cheers

Hey,
Sounds like a good idea.
Belman closed down around May I think.
I think it is permanent, time will tell.

let us know how you go, probably need a place like that some where.
If you dont play it, it's not an instrument!

There's a girl called "myguitar" who used to post here, you could find her in the members list. She seemed pretty switched on to organising things. She may be able to help you.

Sounds like a great idea! A collective approach would be a smart way of introducing a wide range of builds to those seeking a custom built guitar. Good luck in getting something off the ground

Belman are gone for good. Within a week the auctioneers had sold everything. They will not be back, and sadly missed.

i hope that the guys from belman have good things to go on with...
they made great guitars...
manufacturing here in australia is very tough in any industry and as you all know there is a million cheap imported guitars out there....
its a very aggressive market and i give a big thumbs up to belman and anyone else who is / has made their living from building guitars...ray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'
