Guitar modifications...
My daughter has bought herself a guitar which doesn't have a knob at the bottom for attaching a strap. Is it going to harm it if I simply screw on a small knob? It's not the greatest guitar in the world but I don't want to ruin it through ignorance on my behalf.

Acoustic or electric? Electric bodies are solid so no problem and acoustics should have a solid piece on the inside where the strap should go.

Be sure to drill an appropriate size hole for the screw first. Screws are fairly soft so you could strip the head or snap the screw. If it’s an acoustic you could split the tail block if you don’t pre drill it.

Yes, it's an acoustic. You can see a seam at the bottom where the two side pieces come together, I assumed there'd be a bit of framing behind that which a knob could be screwed into. I'm just dotting the Is and crossing the Ts.
Thanks guys.

Should be fine. If you are concerned, see if you can have a look with a little mirror and torch. But I'd be pretty confident.
