    Default New guitar project

    Hi all,1st time poster here,and just wanted to share some pics of a guitar I'm putting together.Basically all the parts were bought from the US Ebay,and I'm finishing the ash body myself,first timer.Anyway,I just uploaded a couple of pics of the prelim finish,a black and sand technique that I picked up from the finishing forum,and coated with Danish oil.I just threw the neck and trem on for a more finalised look.I'm thinking of finishing up with a satin poly spray finish for a bit of protection.Any ideas or comments would be appreciated.

    that guitar looks pretty nice btw -

    if you danish oiled it a few times it already has poly on the surface - danish usually contains around 1/3 poly - fine sanding to round 1200 and 3 coats of danish gives a satin finish - a little gilleys carnauba will bring some sheen to the surface
