    Default Guitar stand design

Hello. My 13yr old granddaughter wants me to make a floor mounted classy guitar stand made of nice curved timber for her new Spanish guitar.
Would anyone have a design for an upright one please, which is mortised and tenoned into a timber base, with a sort of full height C or elongated vertical S curve?
    regards,

Thanks Cliff. I found the design that she was describing, see below. I imagine it is made of three pieces laminated together. Looks challenging.
Any suggestions on how to make the vertical section? I would be starting with 2 boards 140 x20 wide, but of adequate height.
Probably with a wooden yoke on top to hold the guitar, covered with leather or something that will not damage the neck of the guitar. Just thinking out loud here
Probably best to make a plywood template for the vertical curved piece

That one looks like it is cut out of plywood.

Playing devil's advocate here. Starts off with one instrument but they tend to breed and pretty soon you are tripping over them all around the house. You then need a rack that will hold quite a few.

My 14yo said 'that is coool'.
    It does look nice.
I don't think it is ply.

You can get special hooks that close in around the neck with the weight of the guitar - often seen in music shops to better secure the merchandise.

thanks Russ57. and I appreciate the encouragement from your 14yr old. I am making it for a 13 year old granddaughter.

I ordered one of those exact same wall hanging brackets last week and it arrived yesterday. I would like to incorporate it in the stand, but I can't unscrew the bracket from the timber wall mount that comes with it. I think they epoxied the Philips head screw into the bracket. The diameter of the rod going into the hanger is 16mm, so a 30mm thick stand would be suitable.

And I am sure the one in the picture is not ply, although my prototype will be out of ply, and will be used as a template. thinking of making it out of a Qld Maple board I have, if not Northern silky Oak. Needs to be a fairly hard timber

You may have already locked in your design, but I was impressed this this one reviewed by Phillip McKnight:

Thanks for all, there were some great designs in the links provided. I ended up making one like the one Sir Stinky suggested, but with a few more curves and a lock-in hanger at the top
