Hi from a new comer
Hi all , a newcomer to this forum ,but been playing with wood for a while.
I have over the last year become interested in guitar cabs and have made a few for my daughter . I'm always looking to improve on my wood working skills. So I hope you don't mind me picking your brains from time to time
Regards Mark

Hey Mark ,
Thats what this forum is all about, sharing experiences, skills and ideas, So pick away.
Personally I don't know much about cab construction, but I'm always interested.
Some pictures would cool.
Cheers,
Deano

Hey Mr K. Those are some sweet cabinets. Very tidy work indeed.
What is the finish on the cabinets?
I look forward to seeing some more of your work . Make sure you start some inprogess threads of any projects you've got going,
Peter

Thanks Peter , The finish is sprayed 2 pack poly ,I can get a great finish but have a bit of trouble with grain shrinkage over time . I dont use any grain fillers but I need to do some experimenting with these products . I've noticed that some people use shelac for there base coats ,I havn't tried this yet so I'm open to suggestions
Cheers Mark

They look very classy; I like. But how do you think they will stand up to the rigours of the stage? Does the finish ding-well?

Thanks for the kind words all.
The finish only adds minimal protection . These cab usually dont go out I'm sure there are lots of muso's that have special gear just for home or recording use .
The 1x12 currently has a greenback
2x12 blackwood has THD longhorn and vintage 16ohms wired parallell for 8ohms
The 2x12 kingbilly has a weber bluedog alnico and a G12h 8ohm wired in series for16ohms
Cheers Mark
