Nice one! I DO like HADISH black
Tas Oak Top, QLD Maple body, Rosewood FB(??hard to tell), and the neck???? Whoa.....2 tone neck looks unlike anything I have seen before!!! Do tell .
3.6kgs is an excellent outcome with these timbers/build style.
Good job R3R.

thank u ma frens!!
floody: believe it or not ...all timbers used in this guitar was purchased locally to me in Perth
jon: great guesses....top is mountain ash/tassie oak...the back is actually DURIAN !! from da big B and the neck is African Blackwood no-truss-rod ...no finish but buffed/polished to glassy finish......
the african blackwood neck is something special and this is 2nd i made...
it has half inch heel ...and one ear ...the torchlight at the headstock...which is gonna be ma signature ...from now on heheh
this one i added extra artistry (i think ) cos i wanted TWO torch lights in da dark...both going opposite directions ...was lucky in gettin it close to wht i wanted(the lil strip down the bass side of the neck)
and anything under 8 lbs in this sort of style is lucky indeed heh...i was pleased...
and yes HADISH black is way awesome!!!
andrewb...cheers!Looking for

hehe
i should have added tht the durian wood is around 1/3rd lighter in weight relative to honduras mahogany ...but looks and acts tonally similar ...a great wood for guitar bodies imo
it is also a WHOLE LOT CHEAPERLooking for

It's certainly come up nice!

u r not wrong there
but the local big B did call it specifically 'durian'
cheers steve
(the finish on body -top and back- is a couple coats of wipe on poly ...it does require grain filling like typical mahogany but i have come to terms with non grain filled finish ...
which this guitar body exhibits...
no grain fillin on mountain ash side either, ...though it does require it for super smooth finish)Looking for
