JMJ Stereo & Fanfret, Solid Body Guitar
OK heres what ive been up to lately.
As the title suggests, its a fan fret neck on a Rosewood, Pear and Ash laminate body with a flame maple feature face. Oh and a set of stereo out split single coils at the front end.
I already had the pickups, neck and body blank made, so I thought I should get into it and put them together. So, thats what i've done so far.

Interesting ! Your using pickguard material to make your own bobbins ? What are you using for the bottom side?

Same on the bottom, fletch, but its just a single colour 1.5mm ABS plastic.
I am looking for some flatwork material, but havent gotten round to the actual "looking" part.
If i keep this up, i might get as lazy as Andrew!
Though he hasnt been maintaining his "Lazee" title very well lately. Slow down man or your gonna pop a muscle.

I only squared up the sides and cut the back down a little today, so not a lot of action just yet. Im thinking ill finish the back with some rosewood, as used in the stripes through the body. That should match up nicely and be really easy to do.
Ive gotta take this one and another, plus a few body blanks and bits to the cabbies soon and have them all drum sanded. I figgure its cheaper to get it all done in one go. The guy is actually really good about me wandering in with an arm load of crap,,,, sometimes does it for free. Plus he gives me all his off cut rosewood, blackwood, maple, teak and basically anything he cant use. Had a huge clean out a few years back and i scored 5 boot loads of exotic stuff and some veneer plys. I hope hes as generous this year Which reminds me,, i gotta buy them a 6 pack and bottle of burbon this year!
