    Thanks Mannym for your comments.

Auscab: Hey Rob thats the info I have been looking for. Thanks for your suggestion and I will try your method next time I use dye.

Here is a picture of the top after some dye was applied yesterday and two wash coats of shellac applied. I'm told this is more a maroon than a cherry red but I'm happy with the outome

    Cheers

The shellac finish has been applied and looks good. My shell capital H logo has also been inlayed using hand chisels. I enjoy these hands on tasks! Over the weekend the machine heads where fitted, pickups system wired up and input jack plate fitted. It has been strung up and I have had a little play. All I can say is

    Here are a few pictures

The guitar needs to settle in and a final detail to the finish and a setup. I will take some better pictures once the black knobs arrive and will do a sound file for you all.

BTW I changed from the inital idea to use cream pickup covers as they stand out too much. The black appointments are more suttle and and it has placed focus back to the nicely figured top. What do you all think?

    Cheers

    Alan

    G'day Jeff,

Yes, this is my first experience with P90 pickups. I like them very much! So much tone available with the volume knob. Low volume its nice and warm and full volume its wild! Adding a neck pickup to the design adds much more versatility to the guitar.

Thanks for your advice during the build.

    Cheers

    Alan

PS there will be a sound file soon before it goes to its new home.
