update time........
i made a new friend today lol
oh yea. back on topic....
getting ready to taper the neck and glue the fingerboard on...
you may have now noticed i always use two small pins to locate its position and stop it from sliding while clamping
walk over to my bandsaw and trim it up
and put 3 small globs of silicone in the rout just as security that it doesnt move or rattle, (but this trussrod wont rattle... great design)
and fit the trussrod in its slot
pretty damn nice bandsaw cuts!
getting my clamps ready and looking for my new bottle of glue, i finally finished the old one
continued.............

glue time
i masked of the edges of the fingerboard this time to see if it would help with cleanup..
left to dry...

come back today.... and clean up the sides of the neck
oh no.. finerprints.. lol better wipe it down so you can see what an awesome idea the matching binding was
you can se the join if you catch it with the light... shold be fairly invisable after sanding though...
thats all for now....
tomorrow i will probaly rout the neck pocket and get started on the body
who knows... lol

Nice work Andrew, the matching binding on the neck looks very cool
So are you gonna do some inlays on the fretboard ? Some black stars on there would look sweet I reckon..

Hey Andrew,
I like the 1 piece look from the side on profile. How wide is the binding?
Cheers,
Peter

cheers
hmm good question, it should be just under 4mm given final sanding,
i wasnt really aiming for a specific thickness.... i just did it by eye knowing that the B and e strings will follow the binding/fingerboard join like my other 7
but i will confirm that thickness when i take the neck out of clamps in a few hours
LOLOLOL!!!!!!!
YOU ARE the one who whinges abou lack of pic and no captions to go with the pics... lol
i had to post heaps of pics anyway... cause that matching binding looks soooooooo awesome
