    Default First mandolin

Recently finished my first instrument, a mandolin. Blackwood back, sides, neck and peghead, king billy pine top and gidgee fretboard, peghead veneer and binding. I built it using Graham McDonalds 'The Mandolin Project'. Had a few dramas, being a complete amateur, and the french polish leaves a bit to be desired but overall had heaps of fun and the finished product sounds great.
All I have to do now is learn to play it,
    Tim

1st instrument, well done Tim, welcome to the forum!

There are a lot of learning resources on the net, this is a particularly good one, http://www.mandolinsessions.com/

Sorry Bob I dont have a good resource for Ukes. there are a couple of tunebooks around but nothing as comprehensive as the Mel Bay site.

Nice work there Tim. Im sure Graham Mac would love to see some pics of your instrument.

The FP looks pretty good for a first effort...its not something you get down pat overnight.

    Cheers Martin
