    Question musical wood

    G'day all,
regarding timber used for the building of. A few months ago [ Xmas ?] I came across some info that stated the CSIRO , in conjunction with a known manufacturer ,was looking into Aussie timbers regarding thier suitability for
musical instrument application . The expectation of public access re results was June 08. Have been on lookout but as yet can't turn anything up. Might have missed it ? .
If anyone has come across the above could you point me in the direction.

    Default Musical Woods. Tone Woods.

    Hi Wayne,
The guy from csiro. that is doing the research into Australian Timbers as Tone Woods, is Andrew Morrow.
The research is taking abit longer but should be finished soon.
    Best regards,
    Bob,

Apparently there are some regional projects into Aussie timbers and new uses. One of them was into musical timbers, but from wandoo and sheok. Not sure this is new (Stu??).

Thanks a lot Bob. I’m really keen on making guitars with purely Australian tonewoods, so this is going to be like a dream document to me. It's really good of Maton to come to the table on this one. Kudos to them as well as Andrew.
    Cheers,
    Austen
