Neck Angle
Hi guys,
Just a quick question: is it actually worthwhile putting a ~1 degree neck angle on a bass?
Cheers,
Miles

Hi,
Neck angle is adopted to set the string height at the bridge. So when selecting a neck angle you need to know how high the bridge saddles sit above the body. Once you know that you calculate the neck angle by subtracting the difference between how high the top of your frets sit above the body and how high the bridge saddles sit above the body.
If you put a neck angle in your neck when your bridge is not designed for it then you run the risk of not getting enough string clearance or action above the frets. Careful consideration is required. I always draw up a scale drawing first in cad. Alternatively you can draw it up on paper.
Cheers
