Thread: Ngoni repair

Last year a bloke asked me to repair his mother's Ngoni that he trampled on and broke its neck. I explained that I know nothing about musical instruments but because it is not played and is more an object d'art I took on the repair. First step was to clean up the Liquid Nails contamination from his repair attempt, then I built a custom clamping jig to hold the neck until the glue dried, then I glued it up with hide glue and the last thing to do was add two additional brass angles inside the neck to reinforce the joint. Then I just had to tune it up to test that it could bear the load.
