Beautiful! Those inlays are spectacular, they really set it off and work as a great contrast to the top. Congrats on building such a beautiful piece!

Thanks, very kind of you to say.

This guitar is very different to most I have played, as the Slash signature picups are alot different to any of the pickups I have used in the past. The pickups were purely Nick's choice, and I was worried it would sound too much like slash, however the guitar has a tone very different to a LP, and the overall tone came through a bit brighter and a little smoother. None the less suited well. Nick loves the tone and whilst it is not everyone's cup of tea, suits him.

    More pics....

    Cheers

    Peter

How could you ever sound too much like one of the true guitar gods?

Beautiful work. The inlays are stunning, but what got me was how neat and clean the control cavity is - I've had jacksons and the like, decent instruments, that the inside of that area looked like someone hacked it out with a blunt chisel. It's all the more impressive that you care enough about your work to finish off unseen areas like that to such a high standard.

    Thanks Andrew,

It is nice Of you to say so. The control cavities are just routed. Getting a clean cut is simply a case of getting the right rpm on the router and moving continuously with multiple passes. Clean routing saves time later. That is it. I generally don't go much further. After spraying the grain is quite raised on the inside and I wil just give it a quick scuff sand to roughen the surface and level high spots ready to lay on the coats of shielding paint before fitout.

    Cheers

    Peter
