Yes Steve, that is the book at Carbatec. Stew Mac have the book too at a better deal but there is the postage from the USA. There is a dvd set too that you can buy from Stew Mac with the book that is a great help.

Old picker there is a hole drilled at the butt of the guitar to accomidate the jack for the pickup. Take the jack out, insert a tool I made up and you can attach and detach the neck anytime without having to take the top or the back off. The guitar is built so that the top or back never comes off!

    Cheers

    Hi everyone,

Some more progress this weekend. The tailpiece has been made, fingerboard fretted and side dots inlayed. The bridge is from stew mac but I have bought parts to make my own bridge so will see how that turns out. The guitar edges need to be chamfered and the re-curve has to be scraped. Getting close now!
    Here are two progress pics:

    Thanks for looking
    Cheers

    G'day Heytman,

The bridge is a bought one form Stew Mac. I bought a set of adjustment wheels at the same time and will have a go at making my own bridge using the Benedetto book. When I make it I will take plenty of pics and post them here for you.

    Cheers

Thank you to you all for your comments.

Driftit: I have had her strung up but had issues with the tailpiece. I will have to make another one. For the three days it was strung I was excited with the amount of sustain and the notes are real fat and warm sounding however I didn't like the snap sound of the tailpiece breaking at the tailgut holes. Should be stung up again in a few weeks.

    Cheers

yeh im sure it does, a mate of mine made a benedetto archtop but his wasnt a cutaway and he disigned his own sound holes instead of the traditional f holes. Sounds brilliant, plays very nicely. His was blackwood back, neck and sides, western red cedar top and ebony fretboard. how are you going to finish it?? im sure youve said before but i didnt c it.
