    Default a picolo banjo

my son will, who works with me in the woodshop, has been making and playing banjos in his spare time for a couple of years. in december, he finished a 'picolo' banjo. a picolo banjo has a smaller (8" diameter") pot and a shorter fretboard and scale length .. he constructed it with an almost standard width fretboard so it was very playable ... there are a few photos below, but more photos, jigs and process info on my dorset custom furniture blog. also there's a link there to a 50 sec video concert so you can hear what it sounds like.

from that post there is also a link to a 'build a banjo start to finish' previous post ...

no advertising on my blog; no shipping to australia; just sharing hard won information with other furniture and banjo makers.
