I got the p90 thingy ready for assembly and will post pics of it finished but meanwhile the next one is up for finishing is this thinline:

I cut the pocket, F holes and bridge holes since this pic. Still a bit of woodwork with a body issue, the pickup routs and binding. I'd like to get the finish procedure staright in my head well ahead of time.
I am toying with the idea of going for a natural kinda burnished oil finish.
But where to start, any ideas?
Under this top is a fiji mahogany body

How about a Danish oil rubbed back?

I will follow this thread with interest, as making or rebuilding a Tele is close to the top of my things to do.

Are you building it from a kit, or just some templates and a book?
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Bought the neck and made the templates. The rest I have bought from here and there like machine heads scratch plate, bridge, pickups etc etc

I like the look of tele's with the sunburst finish, and with that figure, it'd look great! I also like a brilliant shine... so for me, I'd go with a sunburst nitro
