Thanks Mark, I did have a chuckle at the 'wood ' remark on AGGH

Thanks for the positive comments all.
Here's a few more pics to bring it all home.

Nice work there Stu. Very nice. I love the way the pickup rings are shaped. Works really well. Definitely a "pin up" guitar, that for sure.

How thick is the face plate on the headstock? looks pretty thick, but maybe I'm not seeing it right.

    Cheers,

    Peter

Great work Stu. Nice wood combinations and really nice finish. I really like the pickup rings too.

Haven't been on this forum much in the last day or so.
Just got news from the vet yesterday that one of my Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs has a pretty aggressive lymphoma cancer and he's going down hill fast. A great companion who'll be sorely missed. Sad to see him go, but glad he'll be no longer be in discomfort.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. The pickup rings weren't decided upon as the
choice until the very end. I'd made them but thought they'd look a bit naff.
Glad I changed my mind .
Peter, the She-oak headplate is 5mm thick and consists of two outer layers of sheoak and a .5mm veneer of dyed black maple.
The total thickness of the headstock is about 14.5mm.

The sound is rich and creamy and the coilsplits sound great.!!!!!

    Thanks for watchin', Stu

Sorry to hear of your loss Stu. An overall quality instrument. I recon you'll be one of the leading electric guitar instrument makers in the country in the not too distant future. look forward to seeing some more exclusive instruments.

    Cheers,

    Peter

As a dog person myself I'm sorry to hear about your buddy getting cancer.

Once again the details in this build are what really sets it apart. So are we going to see it as another GOTM at PG?

I certainly hope not! I'm planning on entering this month.

    Thanks Ray.
This one's loaded with SH-6 distortion in the neck and tb-6 trembucker distortion in the bridge.

The sound..............................clean or slightly dirty oozes thick and creamy overtones in the neck with nice coil splits all 'round.
The bridge is still quite rich with a hint of cutting edge.

Once some serious gain is applied, this thing rumbles with the best of them and really starts to cut through with a more serious dose of trebs in the bridge.

All over I'd say she's rich and creamy but somehow avoids being muddy and messy.

The recessed wilkinson trem I hadn't seen done before and I'm really happy I
did it. Very comfortable at the lower height, and loving the tuning stability too.

Thanks for the kind words Peter. I've got more chance of being the P.M. I reckon.

No plans this month to do GOTM.
Spending quality time with the pooch.
