Ebony accent in the binding

Thanks Tim. This is the guitar in question https://www.woodworkforums.com/f98/aussie-timbers-carvetop-47476
The fretboard has a double binding. The inside is ebony and the outer is sheoak to match the f/board. I haven't got any action pics of the f/board being bound but have some of the headstock. A similar method was used for both.
First I rout out a binding channel to fit two side by side.
Now to heat and bend the ebony bindings I made from a sacrificial fretboard.

Can you fit a top lok? (Not, "are you able", meaning have you got room at the nut?)
pups? Something hot (ha ha raging fires....) Maybe active?
I think I am living vicariously in your wallet tho...
Looks sweet...
yada yada yada...Cheers!Mongrel

The black Wilkinson wins on this one.
I've a few floyds I'll be using in the next batch for the new model. One lefty and one righty.

Wuss!!
No, I like those wilks', they got a bit of body to them. Nothing worse than a guitar with a "weak" looking bridge.
How do you find blackwood to work with. How am I going to go with hand tools and elbow grease?Cheers!Mongrel

How figured is your blackwood ?
I have no probs with Blackwood. Easier to work than figured Tas.oak
This was a bit of a tease with the floyd. This one suits the wilko better as it's a bit more traditional than the next shape with floyds.
Plus it'd be a shame to cover up even more of the she-oak than already is.
BTW did I mention this one's getting a big Mother of toiletseat pickguard ?

I'm toying with the idea of recessing these buggers into the body
They're currently 4mm thick. It's either these sheoak ones or I'll make some more in a darker colour like striped ebony or Qld walnut.
These are the same dimensions as the guitarfetish bucker surrounds with
a slightly larger inner arc to follow the shape of the bucker better.

Looking the goods Stu, a bit of nitro on those pup rings and they'll look a million dollars! Are they staggered and tapered in height? I think recessed would look really neat and I can only suggest to make sure you'll be able to jack the pups high enough up to an appropriate level under the strings without exposing too much of the unsightly sides of the pups.
What about the trem? Any plans on a recessed home for it to sit in?

Welcome back to town, buddy.
Trem willl be recessed also. Nice low profile.
The Pups surrounds won't be recessed flush but by half thickness to create a shadowline.
I made a template to pump these babies out quickly. Real quick !!
