A Rhoads for Pru ...
It's way too quiet in here ... so I'll try generate some conversation.
This is the Rhoads I started a year or so ago but put aside for another build. Last week I ordered some parts from ALS which arrived earlier this week so I've no longer got any excuses for procrastinating.
The body was cut from an agathis blank that I bought from Gilet and the neck is an evil-bay purchase. The bevels were done by hand and they just need a little sanding. I did the neck pocket by eye one weekend afternoon when I was bored and it's as snug as bug. I put a carbon nut in it today ... but I'm not real confident about the depth of the grooves.
The layout will probably be a single humbucker with a volume, and possibly a tone. I'm going with a string-through and I'll probably need to recess the bridge. I'm thinking of recessing the knobs as well. There's not a lot of room so instead of a boat jack on the front, I'll probably go with an LP jack into the side straight through to the cavity. The finish will probably be a solid colour with some graphics ... the wood is nowhere near appropriate for a clear finish.
So ...
I need to decide on a design for the headstock. I'm not a fan of reverse headstocks so I'll probably go with the same as on the ESP Alexi Rhoads that I did for our last build. Any thoughts?
And I need to sort out something for the rear cavity cover. I have some perspex ... which I've used on previous builds ... but I'm open to suggestions.

This is another build for my daughter and she likes the idea of an "Ed Hardy" theme ... tattoo inspired graphics on a brighter colour/s background. I'm toying with pink or yellow as the background colour for this one.
That's a Wilkinson pup in the pic ... but I've also got a (buzzing) Kent Armstrong pup which I want to fix. But I have the feeling it will be the Wilkinson as son # 3 wants the Kent.
And yes ... I know I should have ... but I still have a couple of necks lying around and I started this body ages ago so I'll finish this for my daughter and then start planning a build completely from scratch.

Buy yourself a spell checker Andy B ... I'm a stubborn old man!
I'll take a look ... not sure if I can be bothered with the cutaway ... the model it's based on didn't have one.

I made lots of sawdust and good progress today. All routing and drilling is complete except for the cavity cover. I need to decide on a material to make that from and then a shape.
Front ferrules, knobs, jack, pickup, and bridge test fitted.
Rear ferrules and cavity. I've drilled through from the bridge for the ground and from the pups. Couldn't have lined it up better if I tried!!
So apart from the cavity cover, I've only got lots of sanding to do before I work out the finishing details.
I also managed to test print a t-shirt I designed for Pru's end of season netball trip to Queensland. Apart from the printer making my blonde daughter look like a blood-nut, it's all good. So I've corrected the hair colour and I'm ready to do the teams shirts ... once I get the shirts .
The guitar is progressing ... I'm scoring lots of points with my wife and daughter with that and the netball t-shirts ... life is good

Hilarious!! My wife is their coach.
I'd forgotten all about that. But thanks to you, when I began working on it today I was mentally drawing a curve where the cutaway could go. I'll see.
I was assuming Andy B wanted me to design him a band shirt or something. But I suspect you might be right Bob.
Can't say that I'd want to draw a caricature of Andy's ugly mug on my daughter's team shirt though
