Default Scarf joint jig - problem

Hello, I have made a scarf joint jig for a guitar neck, cutting a 10 degree angle. Cuts nice and clean, and when one is rotated, it gives a perfect 10 degree angle.
The only problem is, the sharp end of the cut is at 7 degrees to the perfect 90 degree crosscut.

I thought it was an error with the jig, so made another one, same problem. The jig sits dead flat on the drop saw table, and is held in position by the hold down clamp of the saw.

The timber to be cut is lying dead flat on the drop saw table too, and is clamped in position to the leg of the jig.

Can anyone please suggest what might be causing the problem?

The face of your clamping fence is not 90deg to the table, if its not then that is your problem
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

    Default Found it !!

Thanks rwbuild, you are spot on!
I sat the clamping surface of the long arm that holds the workpiece flat on a marble surface, and the rest of the jig was way out of plumb - i.e it was not vertical.
So put it through the jointer, holding the base of the jig against the fence.
Much better result, although not a perfect 90 degrees. Yet! Need to get the fence on the jointer perfectly at 90 degrees to the infeed and outfeed table surfaces
