    Hey Guys,

Been a long while since I posted any build threads ! Just finished up a Seafoam green strat for a friend - I documented the build with a ton of photos and uploaded to youtube - you can check it out here

Default If you put it to your ear you can hear fish shagging

Hey great stuff Fletch, it's good to see a body with a decent edge roll on it. Unlike the CNC stuff that barely gets a blade over the side. Your mate must have a huge beer belly, concidering the shelling out at the back. Beautiful finish by the way!
I was interested to see you put the side markers on the fretboard smack bang betweeen the rosewood and maple. At first I thought, "nah thats a bit iffy", but i guess it does add to the originality and "custom-ness" to the whole thing.
I'm not a fan of strats, puerly because there are about 16 million of them too many already, but the hand made ones are deffinately worth the wood and wage.
Exelent final instrument, but you did'nt give us a demo of the sound
Any chance of plugging it in and giving us an ear full?

Hey Aussiie, thanks for the comments. Yeah, I love a BIG belly cut, always have. Helps reduce the weight down too .

I agree, strats are a dime a dozen but thats what the customer wanted so thats what he got ( AND they're fun to build too )

Can't do any sound bytes, that guitar is somewhere in California now where my mate resides.

True, that is part of the fun of doing this, i guess. You never know what the next customer is going to ask for,,,,, "SUPRISE",,,, you can do that, right?

Ok, no sound bytes?,,,, fair enough, but you gotta do 2 vids next time
Maybe the guy who bought it has done a lill vid?

Oh, btw,,,, off topic,,,, you have any idea what Beefwood is worth?
Ive been offered a few lengths around 30mm x 200mm x 1500-ish but dont really know what its worth.
It looks like it would make some nice feature faces with a through neck, or possibly a 3 piece body. Its just a pitty it wasnt a little wider.

I have no idea what the price of beefwood is.
But the size you are talking about lenght and width it would be best to resaw it down the centre and use it for book matched drop tops.

    Yeah, thanks Bob,
I was actually thinking of using it for arch tops, so if I split it, i'd only have about 12mm total (after dressing) to work with.
I generally like to have about 3 to 5mm covering the base, so that wouldnt leave much to play with.
I've also been thinking about doing an arch top hollow body, but again, im not sure how good Beefwood is for that.
