    Hi,
I have an inquiry from a customer who is building a solid body from blackhearted sassafras and he wants to know what finish is the best to use to bring out the colour.Cheers Bob,

    Hi Bob,

A classical guitar WIP, this finish is True Oil, needs to have a few more coats and get rubbed out. Adds a warmth to the timber I really like, easy to use and widely available from Gun Shops.

Geez I love that wood. Saw a bowl made from it at a local wood show. Would go fantastic as a solid body. Expensive though. The plate was about the size of a dinner plate and the guy said the peice cost him $150 in mats.
If it don't work.... hit it with a hammer. If it breaks it was stuffed anyways!

    Default Solid body finish

Thanks Sebastiaan, and also thanks to Stu who sent me a private e-mail.
And R3R I will ask my customer to send photo of finished Guitar.
Sasssafrass is an excellent tone wood and if you can get a good combination of colour with pattern through, it is brilliant, Cheers Bob,
