solid body guitar woods (rosewood)
hey all, I'm made plans for a solid body guitar (or bass) and im thinking of using new guinea rosewood. The Question is is this a good timber to use and what are the sound qualities?

I have used it on a solid body neckthru bass and as necks on 3 acoustic guitars.
I like it and will use it again
Will leave discussion of sound qualities to others

I used it for my first build and it sounds great so no real complaints. It sands and finishes pretty well too with an oil finish and I didn't need to grain fill either. It's was also reasonably friendly on router bits etc. The only downside is it can be a little heavy so not great for long periods of performing. If you can do some chambering or use it with a lighter top it might be even better.
Anyway this was my first effort using it
