Soundboard for semi acoutic Upright bass
New to the forum. Am building a semi acoustic upright bass and am what options I have for timber to use for soundboard & sides. Was going to use hoop pine but it has pin borer - may still be ok. does any one know what poplar would be like ? used sally wattle (nsw blackwood is there a difference?) for neck - made an f5 mandolin with this as well. Am making plans myself as couldn't find any.

If you plan a cheap build with what you have available go with the wattle this will work as a soundboard.
