For my 2nd guitar, I've promised my son a Strat. As a starting point, does anyody have any drawings or know where I could find some?

Just go down to your local music store with a large black crayon and a large sheet of paper. Select the most expensive looking Strat on the rack, plonk it down on the piece of paper and run the big black crayon around it....wont cost you a cent

Nah. You can email them to most printing shops and they'll print them on A0 etc for actual size.

I have all those plans too
What you need to print them to full size is
adobe acrobat professional
The professional version allows you to 'Tile' the page, so
you will end up with a full size plan on 16
A4 sheets of paper
The free acrobat reader will not allow you to do this

My local print shop charges $5 for an A0 or A1 print. Well worth it considering the time required to stick 16 A4 sheets together.
