Tasmanian ToneWoods
Andrew at his age, that chainsaw was big enough it did the job at hand.
Plus I did not want to carrry him out of the bush.
I am getting too old myself now to use the big chainsaws, now I pay others to do what has to be done, most times now I buy logs and get the sawmill to mill the log into quarters large billets and then have them resawn on the bandsaw.
I also work with a few sawmills that call me if something special comes into the yard.

Kevin, If you have been reading the papers lately the days of wood chipping down here in Tasmania are coming to a close 2 of the main chip mills are closing for a couple of months, gunns can not sell there wood chips there is a huge stock pile, the writing is on the walls.
As for large saw logs they still are available down south in fact I am having some large logs milled in the next few weeks,
Cheers Bob

I ended up grabbing this bookmatched billet.
Rough measure it is around 1500mm length x 250mm x 50mm thickness for each billet.
It landed on the doorstep on Friday and it l will yield a lot of bookmatched tops as well as headplates and other bits and pieces.
Service was great and delivery prompt.

No firm plans yet Floody, but I'll get around 16 b/matched'ed drop tops of around 8mm to 10mm thickness out of these plus numerous other laminations and veneers.
I'm pretty sure Bob said he had more of the same. Could be wrong though.
