G'Day Jon, I hope the mods don't mind if I keep posting pictures on this thread that I will keep going, as I will work at getting photos of salvaging in the bush, milling logs etc.
And try and work at getting together youtube videos of how the business works.
And believe it or not a lot of forum members do not know that by clicking on the link banner it takes them to my website. so mods let me know if there is a problem with this thread. Cheers,Bob.

Nothing like a bit of temptation I reckon .

Good stuff Bob. I hope the mods don't have issues as this is a great service to all forum members and I reckon would give many members a compelling reason to visit the forum.

I believe tonewoods are best sold by showing photos of the actual timber with dimensions. One can then enquire as to price, postage etc.

I'm lucky being in Melbourne where we have a few timber suppliers who cater well to luthier requirements but getting the figured stuff is really pot luck.

Also, that 1800 Blackwood billet is magnificent. I will chat to you about that offline.

    Good on ya Bob

Nice Bob but I think it needs a few more years.

    Nice one Bob,

I've heard that the older and drier the timber is, the better the tone. Better cut that one up into billets and sell it for $2000 a set. Best tone wood on the market.

    Cheers,

    Peter

Out of curiousity - is there actually any usable timber that can be salvaged from a stump like that? I'm not sure of the scale in that particular picture other than it being huge.

Music instrument wise, there is not much that can be salvaged from a stump like this as it is too twisted and wild in shape, this stump will be sold to some one that does wood carving or some one that wants to use it as a base for a dining room table with a large slab on top and a very large dining room.

New photos will be posted soon to give you an idea of what is available.
Its nice to see 3 builds on the front page from tonewoods supplied by me.
Jon, Stu, and Peters build, I am looking forward to seeing finished build photos as I am working on a video to go on my website using the builds as a feature plus some of the figured tonewoods.
    Regards Bob

Few woods on the market can match the striking colour contrasts found in Tasmanian blackhearted sassafras.
An excellent tonewood for Acoustic and Electric guitars.
Few photos attached to show a few examples.
