Timber Suppliers and average prices?
I know of most of the bigger timber suppliers in Adelaide, but what are their average prices for luthier timbers? (sizes etc.. from experience and what not)
I usually get my timbers from Gilet's and eBay, so i though i may take a trip to Otto's or that one in the hills (name slips my mind?)
Not in the mood to waste petrol going so far away to get timber if they have none or they are charging an arm or two.

My experiences with wood suppliers....
1. Ottos - I went in a week ago and theres absolutely nothing on the shelves in the way of tonewoods and what there is is either average quaiity and highly priced and on many cases chucked hap hazardly on the shelves. I find the service at Ottos below average also.
2. The place in the hills....youre talking about the place in Handorf. They have some interesting wood but they didnt seem overly keen to bend over backwards and let me look through the wood they had stored out in their shed. Ive never been back there.
3. Gilets - not the cheapest but service is good.
4. Tim Spittle from Australian Tonewoods - my current main supplier of tonewoods. Great wood and great service.

Tim is brilliant at hunting stuff out for you.
I've got him on a small mission at this moment.
There's a certain re-assurance in knowing that you'll end up
with the best stuff he can find for you, and it's usually mind-blowing timbers too.
Kim and Bruno at ALS are also just as good. Another small mission.
cheers, Stu
