Ok,
Now if we can put the knives away for a minute. 69guitars, I think that you are just the victim of a simple misunderstanding. I must admit that I was little confused by the first post. As I know that Bob and Rick have talked extensively about the Tasmanian Timbers and have promoted a little on the forum their products, so I too assumed that it was one of them. I do not know Kiwigeo personally, however I have not seen anything from his posts to see that he meant any offence to you.
As far as the first names go. As you probably have gathered, alot of us go by our first names, but it is by no means required.
In case no one has done so, welcome. I hope you have more to contribute, however please make it a positive contribution. Some of those comments were a little jagged than they needed to be, however I understand why you would be upset. I hope you can come to an understanding with the other members and that there are no hard feelings.
Kind Regards,
peter

Seeing as we have everyone's attention ...
This bloke called 69Guitars on woodworkforums mentioned a site called Tasmanian Tonewoods ... apparently it's updated two or three times a week. I visited it and it looks a bit busy to me ... hard to get to the guts of it ... but I'm interested in whether others have used the site, or better still, purchased from these guys.

Well I've never felt intimidated by anyone here, never built a guitar either, mended a couple of broken acoustics in the past and occasionally get the urge to build an electric but the urge soon passes when I see the standard that’s set by builders in this forum.
This forum needs all types so I personally feel it’s a pity when anyone leaves, even if they visit only occasionally to perhaps add an opinion a link or sometimes just a different slant on what is going on.
I saw your post as what it was and actually came to the thread because it mentioned Tone Wood in the description.

Dadovfor- I've bought numerous tops from Bob and have had A1 service from him and
his product.
Bob is a member on this forum. Woodturner777.
He's on Ol' Picker's list of preferred suppliers which was brought to life as a
recommendation to people on suppliers who provide a great service and promptly at
that. Just as you can get on the list for great service, you can be just as quickly
removed for the opposite.

I have bought timber from Bob, and it was quality timber at a VERY reasonable price. If you have something in mind, he will try and hunt it down for you, which is something I have not come across very much, and appreciate very much. He comes with my recommendation.
Cheers,
Peter

New Tone Woods Site
Well all I can say is thank you Stu, & Peter for the compliments about my service.
And Peter I will have your fiddleback Eucalyptus you asked about soon.
And to Martin all I can say to you its a shame the new bloke left the forum, think before you open your mouth. My love is timber has been since I was 12 years of age so thats now 50 years, my other great love is music so I am doing what I love that is seeing the best timber I can find turned into guitars to me that is the best way of value adding. Cheers Bob,

Give it a rest Bob...I offered an apology to the bloke and he chose not to accept same. You've got some free plugs for your business so lets have an end to it. If you want your pound of flesh then I'll donate another $100 to the bushfire fund.
As far as my tonewood suppliers go I give first priority to suppliers who either provide sponsorship of the forums I frequent or are trusted and approved suppliers. Of course if you decided to become a sponsor of Neil's forum then I might reconsider
The other main reason I use other suppliers is that they have a long track record in supplying acoustic tonewood whereas you dont. From your website(s) and the posts in here it's my impression that you are primarily in the business of supplying the electric market.
I've checked out your new website and while its visually thrilling I have one question regarding the extensive list of "friends". Are these friends satisfied customers who use your tonewoods (some of your friends are acoustic builders) or are they simply MySpace aquaintances/link swaps?

Can we let this go ... or delete this thread?!
Martin made an incorrect but perhaps understandable assumption ... 69Guitars got a little bent out of shape by it ... Martin apologised ... let's move on.
I really hope that 69Guitars is lurking again and comes back ... I could do with some assistance in putting cr@p on Andy B and Floody ... and maybe even Martin. But if he feels that affronted by Martin's comment, it has his choice.
