Martin made an incorrect but perhaps understandable assumption ... 69Guitars got a little bent out of shape by it ... Martin apologised ... let's move on.

I really hope that 69Guitars is lurking again and comes back ... I could do with some assistance in putting cr@p on Andy B and Floody ... and maybe even Martin. But if he feels that affronted by Martin's comment, it has his choice.

    Good one Bob.

In the sad but possible event that 69Guitars doesn't return, I will seek your support in paying out Andy B and Floody from time to time.

    So anyway ...

... how about that Tasmanian Tonewoods!!

G'Day dadovfor, you will have my full support in paying out Andy B & Floody there is nothing I like better than abit of a stir now and then, being Scottish born with a wicked sense of humour and maybe Stu will join us seeing that he is part Scottish his Dad's side, and who knows Martin might join us too.
    lets have fun. Cheers Bob

I have alot of Irish blood in me which means I'm stubborn and don't give up easily.

Bob, in my last post I asked a question about the Myspace friends you have displayed on your new website. To anyone viewing your website for the first time it wouldnt be hard to mistake these MySpace friends as endorsees of your products. I think this needs clarification.

Myspace "friends" are only EVER link swaps for self promotional purposes and two-way platitudes and I don't actually think anyone who uses Myspace regularly - and you have to use it a lot to be able to understand it - is going to be fooled for a second. I have a Myspace page myself but i don't think anyone seriously believes that Diana Krall is interested in my double bass-making. But she's one of my oldest friends!

Thanks for the clarification Matthew....I'm not a user of MySpace or any other of the networking sites.

No I guess you're not legally required to answer any questions I put to you about your business or your website. The thing is mate I generally prefer to do business with people who are a bit more willing to answer quite valid queries about their business and products.

Yes Australia is a great place to live but its just one of many places I'd be happy living in.

    Cheers Martin

    G'Day Martin,
I have just sent you a private e-mail, I will answer your questions in private.
But lets keep the forum for what it is and not for you and me, to keep answering each other questions. as for being happy living in many places you could always go and live in Ireland. Cheers Bob,

This forum is for open discussion and this is what Im trying to have with you. Ive asked you quite valid questions a potential customer would ask and you refuse to answer them.

This will be my last post in this thread.....further discussion seems fruitless.

I'll ignore the "go live in Ireland" smoke screen comment...I work in an industry where international boundaries are meaningless...I work in many parts of the world and my workmates on any one job are usually from all parts of the world. Makes for an interesting work environment and it also helps one keep an open mind.

    Regards Martin

    Martin,
I will answer one question for you, yes I do sell Acoustic tone wood.
I have been exporting billets for resawing for a number of years. and I do offer sets to a few well know luthiers in fact last month I sent Acoustic sets to Ireland.I have a long waiting list, Cheers Bob

As far as my tonewood suppliers go I give first priority to suppliers who either provide sponsorship of the forums I frequent or are trusted and approved suppliers. Of course if you decided to become a sponsor of Neil's forum then I might reconsider

The other main reason I use other suppliers is that they have a long track record in supplying acoustic tonewood whereas you dont. From your website(s) and the posts in here it's my impression that you are primarily in the business of supplying the electric market.

I've checked out your new website and while its visually thrilling I have one question regarding the extensive list of "friends". Are these friends satisfied customers who use your tonewoods (some of your friends are acoustic builders) or are they simply MySpace aquaintances/link swaps?

    Cheers Martin

    Hi Martin,
Well I have taken your advice and decided to become a sponsor of the Musical instrument forum, I spoke with Neil a few days ago and all I have to do now is send Neil my Banner and away we go.
    As for myspace. http://www.myspace.com/tasmaniantonewoods
Well yes allot of the friends on the site are customers of mine and I am getting more of them all the time. the main reason behind this site is to create a place for some of the top luthiers to meet and chat and share idea and build a luthier network, another goal of mine is to see Tasmanian timbers value added with less waste nothing more, so far I dont have much money so I am not in it for the money, its all in Timber and I do have some of the best available.
But it is not cheap, Cheers Bob.
