What Tool for Cutting a Scratchplate?
Hi,
I'm modifying an old guitar. I'd like to change the pickups from humbuckers to single coils. The guitar is a tele-style Yamaha Pacifica so I can't get a pre-cut scratchplate for it. I'm planning on getting some blank scratchplate material from StewMac.
What I'm not clear about is what tool should I use to cut it. In the past I've tried cutting plastic sheet with a fine jig saw blade however it didn't work particularly well.
Cheers,
Chris

Chris,
Use a router table, a flush cutter, a 12mm mdf pattern and double sided tape. rough size the blank with your saw, allowing for the crumbling edge.Cheers, Bill
