Can I Do Anything About Twisted Maple?
I have a piece of curly maple about 48" long, 4" wide and 1" thick. It's twisted about 1/4" or so along it's entire length. Is there a way to untwist it? Ive heard of people soaking wood and flattening it under concrete blocks.
On the other hand, is this considered a bad warp? Once I start building the neck, is this enough of a twist to be a problem?

I would consider the twist to be where the wood wants to be and not attempt to untwist it.
By the time you cut it in half for a neck length and trim the width down, you may find the remaining twist able to be removed by careful planing

Thanks for the advice, Jeff. I had someone pick out the wood with me so I'm sure that if there was a problem he would have said something. Cheers!
