now that the resin is dry i have removed the middle part of the jig , flipped the violin over and centred it up and bolted it down again ( why did i use so many threads )
now im ready to fit the neck and reinforce the neck area and the tail pin area , will also add some Carbon Fibre to the inside of the bouts to get a smooth line inside

last week i glued the top on and have made some neat F holes , and have trimed the top and bottom plate to aprox 2.5mm over hang , just working on geting the lip nice and uniform and trimming the bouts to look even , should come up well , have also fitted a moulded peace into the peg box and filled the area in between with epoxy ( so the pegs wont slip ), will post some pic's soon

not the best pics but hell , its not finished yet , the f holes need some work and the over hang will get some hours spent on it before a final gloss and fitting of the finger board , the peg box is 2 layers of 3k twill (0.6mm thick )top and bottom with a resin core so the pegs dont slip ( carbon is graphite and slippery )

why pegs ? to tighten the strings
have seen internally geared aluminium pegs that you glue in ( cant slip ) but heard there easy to strip and don't last long and cost $120 a set, i passed
to go with guitar string adjusters would have have the violin players looking at you worse than they do when you make a violin that's not timber
the normal pegs slip when set into carbon fibre only ,so the bulk of the peg box is straight resin only 2 layers inside and out , it should be grippy enough to hold the tension

violin from scratch
it seems you cant finish off your threads after 106days ????? so i made a new post )
i finally finished of the carbon fibre violin , and strung it up with "huayin silver pro strings " , the second image is a copy of the violins voice from a program called circfft , i will try a longer sound post and might try a heavier e string

I might be the only one, but I'd love to hear a sound clip, it looks great. When are going to outsource manufacturing?

You most certainly can finish off your threads after 106 days.
All you have to do is tick the box and away you go, perhaps you didn't read the warning completely?
We used to get lots of new members asking question in old threads and the original poster hadn't been on the forum for a long time and therefore they were unlikely to get an answer. Hence the warning was put there.
But it appears that people don't always read it in full.
I can merge these posts with your original thread if you'd like, let me know.

i will post post a sound clip when i get one , i cant play a violin so will have to let some pro's play it and give some feed back , will post a sound clip when i have 1 , ( have a open string 4 tones recording )
I changed the length of the sound post and improved it a little today ,
and a heavy "E" string made the 4 strings the same sound level ,
the f hole "helmholtz " is on "C#" note so will have to open up the f holes to bring it back to "D" ( a bit of dremal work ), i left them under sized for that reason
BIG SHED"I can merge these posts with your original thread if you'd like, let me know."
it was 3am when i posted , and missed the check box , yes , if you could join this thread to the main thread (same title ) it would be much appreciated
