Wooden Bling
Hey, not much acoustic action here lately so I thought I would post a progress pic of one of my latest Dreads.
It is flamed PNG Rosewood or Narra. Sitka top and ebony bindings, walnut rosette with colour wood strips. I used strips of EIR to seperate the bits on the 3 piece back. I posted some pics a while back of this one still in bits.
It has a coat of sealer sprayed on but has not had any other work done yet. Even so I am blown out by how this wood simmers.
Thanks for looking.
Dominic

That flamed NG rosewood looks awesome. I've used NG rosewood for electric guitar building and loved it. Very stable and finishes beautifully. Make sure you tell us all about how it sounds as acoustic back and sides. What neck and fingerboard will it have? can't wait to see more.

Great Dom. We're relying on you and Bob L for the
acoustic eye-candy.
Beeeautifulllll choice of timbers indeed.
There's only one glaringly huge error in your thread here that I see.
Not enough bloody pics !!!!!!!!! he he

That is looking really good Dominic. I like the way the NGR flashes away from the sitka, lovely contrast from the bindings as well.
How was the ebony for bindings? Ive used some for a peghead veneer and the stuff splits out if you look at it,

Thanks guys. This is truely cool wood. I got it from ALS and when I saw it, I bought all the rest they had. I have another 4 sets very similar.
Thanks Andrew and happy birthday for the other day.
Oz-tradie, if you look at the pics in a miror they will look different. But otherwise you will have to wait for more new ones.
Sebastiaan56, I bent the bindings in my bender with no big problems though I did hear a 'crack' when cranking down the bender. I got a small split at the upper bout bit it did not go all the way through and once sanded you can't see anything. But I recently purchased some supersoft veneer softener from the US for just this sort of thing in the future.
I am still on holidays so It won't be long before I can put up more pics.
Cheers
Dom
