Looks nice man the wood on the body looks finished though? maybe just the type of wood? the neck does look bare.

Hows the neck go with no truss rod? staying straight?

The zero fingerboard radius ok to play? good for some nasty slide blues i reckon burn it up! haha

    nice work though

    Any build photo's?

    hehe

    thanks folks

it was a most stop-start affair...this lil project as it rained on and off here over the last couple of months

thus i did not bother with build pics thinking it might be an added drudgery but i will post some pics i took in betweens

    like this

    bent sides glued to core

and this (no finish on this neck at this stage ...or at any stage ...hehe)

    pre-routing face

there was some pasty polish thingy i used on body which meant to act as finer sanding grit...it was wiped/buffed off but it did deepen the colour somewht

but it is no lacquer/urethane/etc etc

    neck is beautifully straight atm..

i see no reason it would deviate under 9's at the moment

i already built a couple of other rosewood necks without truss rods and this is the 3rd one...the other two is still straight under 10's standard pitch tension for a couple of months now

the sound is BIG off the board

as for zero radius fingerboard ...this is also not the first time and it is now my preferred radius for the fingerboard for all sorts of reasons

u r right...it be good for slide guitar stuff if only i can manage a believable lick with it

just whack it into to open G tuning and pick at the A and G and B strings with your fingers, just pluck them open and whack the slide on 2 then slide up to 3rd fret sounds pretty cool and easy then just do some wiggly bits up around 7 and 12 in between. easiest blues riff ever!

No neck reinforcement at all??? Might be ok if youre running ahigh action but if youre running a low action then you usually need a bit of neck relief dialed in using a truss rod. None of my steel string acoustics have straight necks....theres always a bit of relief.
Whatever note you blow youre never more than a semitone away from the correct one....(Miles Davis)

    yup

    none whatsoever

action on guitar atm is 5/64" ...no fretting out anywhere on any bends

    neck ...straight...no relief built in
