Wow, I haven't visited for a while and what a great way to be greeted by a sexy Tele. The natural no finish is really sexy I say and intrigued by the no radius thing. I'd like to be able to play on these soon.

Hi R&R.
Top job on the polish. What can you tell us about this king wood? This is the first I have seen or heard of it. And... Where is the tone review on the guitar??
Cheers,
Peter

cheers Peter
i am in my rosewood period atm and this kingwood was one of the first tht attracted me so to this species because it is capable of a glass like polish (high speed and heat is a requirement though imo) without any extraneous material/wax/lacquer/etc etc...in pic above i only did(highly polish) the body and yet to do the neck)
the official name is Dalbergia cearensis (neck)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingwood_(wood) was actually the page tht turned me onto this wood ...espc...the pic of the chess piece (me guess is tht it is highly polished on the lathe)
the body Kingwood is actually from Mexico (neck kingwood i think is from Brazil) ...
but very similar in all respects ...except can be very deep shimmering purple...unlike brazilian counterpart...see sides as example...
very hard...very strong and stiff and impervious to atmospheric changes has been my experience (the negatives are: brittleness...tearout city...if routing skills not up to par ...little give in wood so need to accurately drill holes to approriate size or trouble be invited--tuner holes and the like.... oh...also very very heavy))
i left the bent sides out on the patio for a few days before gluing up to the core and the thin bent sides had no spring back watsoever and remain as shaped as it was off the hot iron
