    Default HT8 project

I was not going to post this project until I had a glued up cabinet but as there’s not a lot of action within this section, so here’s current WIP.

This is a commission from Adam who posted a while back in the search for a speaker builder (sorry Soundman?) it’s based on a HT8 speaker kit from RAW in Canada, see WIP pages for further details … http://www.greenie512.net/greenie512/html/wip.html possible glue up in next few weeks subject to work load.

Nice looking work so far. Is the MDF anything special, or standard?

Groggy , nope just bog standard 18 mm MDF from Brims in Brisbane. However we will treat the insides of the panels with heavy vinyl tiles fixed with contact adhesive as additional damping (plus other acoustic fill) once I get to 80% glue up stage.

    Default HT8s finished

Finally finished the RAW HT8 speakers, a bit of a delay due to xmas etc.

I have 5 pages of constuction details at http://www.greenie512.net/greenie512/html/ht8s.html

And you can follow a tread from Adam on- http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/i...?topic=32072.0

They are unfinished MDF as Adam will arrange auto paint job from a suitable spray shop.

These are excellent speakers and well worth the kit price but freight from Canada would be pretty dam expensive + taxes.

    Cheers - Phil

Harry, circa US$1,200 to $1,800 check out http://www.rawacoustics.com/item__HT...m_kit,774.html.

I dread to think what the freight would be from Canada + customs etc. However we are looking at a speaker that would compare to something between AU$5,000 - $10,000 retail
