Only If!
Hi ummm..
Only if my first attempt in making a mini bowl looked half a bowl I would have been on top of the moon. Sooo heres one to make you all have a laugh, I wish I had it to upload for you all to see and help me laugh at me and my amazing bowl wannabe lol, I got as far as roughing it out blanked it up crystal clear and then as I started working on the bottom part the whole thing flung out of the lathe and bounced around the garage before it landed in front of me in about 50 thousand particles then when I got a closer look? I had a big hole in the middle see? thats how you make a bowl Mrs Blackie way if you wish to learn how to make a weapon like that let me know...Oh and by the way keep the pets out of the garage my dog was looking at me like OMG WOMAN WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
Cheers!

You going to put it back on the lathe to sand it?
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Fantastic Work for a first bowl. I just love the Coolibah Burl or any burl in that case. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more. Cheers

OK this is the first posting in this section normally in the Toy Making so between Christmas presents and picture frames for family members took some time out for some turning and ended up with this piece titles "The Ooops Bowl" no explanations why or prizes for guessing. Any way Here it is 10" diameter 1 1/4 tall with a thickness of 1/8 through out made from Tulip wood and the centre if memory serves me right is Iroko. I have other photo's at different angles

Nice save! Can't think what would have happened. The rest of the piece looks very plain! Maybe a line somewhere would liven it up. Well finished though!

New boys work
As I'm a new boy, I thought I'd post a few pics of the sort of work i do. Any comments and critique are more than welcome. I've been turning regularly now for two or three years and am still trying to perfect the 'craft' to put the 'art' into my turning. I hope there aren't too many pics for one post!!

Gus (Gustave?) that's creative and skilled work you're doing.
IMO your best next step is to simplify the designs and remove more bulk (ie, lighten up the pieces).
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.Cheers, Ern
