Pen received from Sturina
I received a beautifully segmented red gum and eucalypt on Sierra pen from Sturina today. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Once I get the camera out.

I received a PM from Spanky239, to say that my pen arrived and there is one coming my way as well.
I hope Spanky doesnt mind, but I will post a pic of the pen I sent.
Here it is, Birdseye Huon Pine with Australian Red Cedar inserts.

OK, so compared to the photos posted by others, mine suck!! However the pens I received certainly do not.
The first 2 pics are from Deb - the pens are lovely and a few east coast timbers (the lidded pen is made from wattle the other unknown) - a couple of which are a mystery to everyone and still require identification.
The second 2 pics are from Bob in USA and again, a lovely pen which sadly caused him a lot of grief. The lovely scallops are white holly and the remaining timber is mesquite burl. This pen has also come with the bits to convert it to a roller ball - two pens in 1 !!! The blanks are also lovely and I look forward to some shed time over easter to get into all of these blanks! Better than chocolate!
Thanks to both my pen swap partners, I hope they are both back again next year.

I gotta say that the standard of pens this year is pretty high. Every body seems to have brought their A game and my pens from Seriola are no exception. Des took the trouble to peruse a recent thread talking about everybodies favorite kits and lo and behold these two beauties appear in my two favorite kits.
So we have a roman harvest and elegant beauty both wrapped in Mallee burl and resin blanks. These are seriously nice pens and will be going straight into my private collection (in the pool room if I had one ) . Also included were some blanks Des had collected from his local area.
So a big big thanks to Des for a wonderful swap and his patience at my slow pace. Hopefully yours will be heading your way very soon.
cheers

Here's my pen from my domestic swap partner (Spanky239). I'm not sure of the timber, but it's really a striking pen with lots of character. I also received some very nice blanks including some really pretty curly koa.
EDIT: I talked with Stacey, and he told me that the timber is koa.
Thanks so much Stacey!!
This completes both of my pen swaps. I'll let Stacey post what I sent him.

I talked to my domestic swap partner (Spanky239), and he told me to go ahead & post what I sent him since he's having internet problems at home right now.
It's african blackwood with bloodwood scallops & finial with an accent ring. I didn't take a picture of the blanks I sent him, so the picture of the pen will have to do. One thing I learned from doing scallops is to mark the direction of the grain of the scallop pieces. If not, they might finish a different color. If you look at the cap, you'll notice the scallop looks darker than the others. I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't line the grain up the same way. Just something I learned from doing this pen.

Recieved from Joanne
I got both of my pen swaps in. Here is the first. It6 is from Joanne (josquiggley). Roman Harvest draped in a fantastic Coolibah burl. I also got a great assortment of blanks including some of Aussies finest burls and hardwoods, I will try to upload a pic of them later today when I set up for my to take pics of my other pen from my US swap. Sorry my pics are not the best. IMG_3396.jpgIMG_3397.jpgIMG_3398.jpgIMG_3399.jpgIMG_3400.jpgIMG_3401.jpg

whens the next
Hi all i received my pen from Davej07 on friday and i love it. It was a first attempt at casting stamps and if that was his first go i cant wait to see what he can do in a few months time because this one was perfect. I would also like to thank him for the blanks as they are all new timbers to me and cant wait to make them into pens.
