Stagecoach-Amati/Victory Models- 1/10 Scale by Script
After looking over the parts and instructions, I thought it best to just get my log started. I'm a bit intimidated by the metal work...need to get a good cutter to remove the photo etch brass pieces with minimal damage or distortion. (Any suggestions?)
The instructions and drawings look pretty good. Hopefully, if I follow step by step, any errors or omissions can be caught and corrected before it's too late.
I've attached some pics of the box, parts, drawings and instructions.
This 1/10 scale build should be an interesting change from my last project...the 1/160 scale Rob't E Lee
Now I think I'll get a beer,go sit in the recliner and start reading the instructions.
Cheers,
Jim

Before I post anything else, I'll see if I can find out how to do so in the correct order.....

I'm along for the ride, Jim. Don't be intimidated by the instructions. As Bret said, just dive in - it'll seem easier as you work on each individual section.

G'Day Jim,
I'm in awe of this sort of project and the blokes who tackle them.
There have been quite a few top WIP threads on the forum showing a coach build.
I'm sure that a number of them will drop in for a look see plus help if needed.
One in "Adrieke" is already onboard.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to write up your progress & the photos.
Cheers, crowie

I will follow this build having only seen Adrieke's wip ,as they say have a go, after your Robert E Lee, it should be much better to work in a larger scale ,and it looks like you wont have to do much cutting with the metal work ,it all looks pretty strait forward to me go for it , we are all waiting for the pic's. Adrieke, Bret,bj383ss,Hermit,crowie, TKO,
Thanks for looking in and the words of encouragement.
Please bear with my postings as they are a record for me of my process...
Reviewed the instructions and confirmed all the parts exist....
Start of chassis assembly...
Numbered the wood parts for removal and highlighted their locations. Also highlighted the locations of the photo etch parts needed for step one. By the end of the build, all the parts better be highlighted...
Dry fit the wood parts and installed the brass straps on one piece....instead of cutting the supplied wire I used brass nails from my shipyard inventory to fasten the strap in place....
I think it is taking longer to publish this post than it did to do the described........Oh well,
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for the look in, Gary....missed your note on my last post.
Made some more progress on the chassis....so far the supplied parts, both wood and metal, are outstanding. The instructions do leave a bit to guesswork...like what to glue and what moves so should not be glued...
Have not made a mistake on that front yet......
Cheers,
Jim

Great Pictures. I didn't realise how small those parts are. The brass work looks great.
Am following this one to the end.

Greg,
Thanks! And yes, the parts are real small. I was thinking that after the 1/160 riverboat it would be nice to do a larger scale build...presumably with easier to see and handle parts. Never gave much thought to the higher detail of smaller parts...1/10 scale bolts and straps are really tiny........
Theses pics are of the completed basic chassis assembly. Now on to the brake system.....
Cheers,
Jim
