My Silly Puter, or ??
Hi All,
Well, all of a sudden it doesn't want to do what I want it to do, but, that's normal ???.
I bring up W W F & go to click on "Quick Links ", nothing happens. I have to go via the back door to get there ???.
Another one is, in sending out an Email to all my Friends, I click BCC, Click on all my Friends/Contacts, go to Delete the name of the person who sent it, so as to Protect their Name, & their Contacts.
Do you think it will Delete, everything but??
It just Blues out everything, & if I click it, then I lose everything.
Well, I could do with a bit of HELP, PLEASE.Regards,
issatree.

If operating system = Win3.1, Win95, Win98, or WinXP, I've forgotten them.
If OS = WinMe, Vista, I never used them.
If OS = Win8, I used it for a few months before finding that the folder that holds the Metro apps CANNOT BE EASILY ACCESSED AND DELETED BY THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT, so I nuked its OS a$$ and went back to Win7 in disgust.
If the browser is IE, I haven't used it since about 2002.
If the email package is anything but Lotus Notes or Thunderbird(?) or a webmail like GMail, I've never used it. This goes triple for Outlook, which I have never allowed to be installed on any PC I've had any admin access to.
If it's a Mac, I haven't used one since the PowerPC days, or 1999ish. I've never used BSD/NeXT derived versions of the Mac OS.
If it's running Linux, I've used Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian and a few others I can't recall, back in the early to mid 2000's
If it's a mainframe, I've used COBOL and FORTRAN on a PDP-11(???)
TL;DR version:
1) Install a different browser and see if the problem persists.
2) Use any email package except Outlook. If your email is web based, see 1.

...just pointing out that asking a question like that is like asking:
"My transportation cannot get me to where I need to go. How do I fix this?"
or
"Y'know that sport that's having a thingy - who's the best?"*
...and then chiding people for non-response...well, waddya expect.

*That's actually the sort of question I would ask on a sport forum, as I probably have a negative level of knowledge on the topic (ie the little I do know could be wrong).

The elephant in the room is the "Friend" who fixed your last problem and got derided for taking too long and getting lucky - I'll bet he's hit the hills

It Is Still My Silly Puter.
Hi to You All,
Well, I'm still in the Dark as to what I have been advised.
I'm no Puter whizz, but I thank you for your reply, M/S, you lost me in the 1st. 5 lines.
I have no Idea what you were on about.
I don't know how I could have asked those 2 questions, to make it easier.
I thought I had asked them simply, so all could understand, what I wanted to know.
I wood have thought there wood have been Puter People out there that could have answered that in English.
I'm sorry to be so Blunt, but I still have my 2 Problems.Regards,
issatree.

The number of things that can go wrong with any hardware/software combination is close to infinite. Your described issues do not fit any commonly known problem and providing any sensible advice on the problem as described is near impossible.

With the information provided, the possible solutions are:
Install new browser (such as Chrome or Firefox or Opera) and test your forum problem. If it has gone, swear on a stack of bibles never to use Internet Explorer again. If it is still there, then it is possibly a problem with the Java virtual machine (think of your computer simulating another computer), so uninstall Java and reinstall. (the functionality of the quick links is provided by a javascript call).
If the problem persists after that, save all your personal information to another hard drive/USB stick or whatever and reinstall your operating system (I work on the theory that I'll spend no more than 30 minutes trying to solve some bizarre problem; after that it's odds on that reinstalling the O/S is faster than tracking down a real solution).
AND
Try another email package to see if the address selection problem happens in that.
(Personally, I'd just migrate to Google Mail)
OR
Buy a Mac.

Hi All who Helped,
Still wasn't sure what you were on about.

Anyway I fixed it OK, as I used " System Restore ", & it worked.
Thanks anyway.Regards,
