What type of timber is this?
I finally... finally... got out of the office for a bit today for the first time in what seems like forever and actually got to do things that make me happy - like look at wood. To help me celebrate my throwing off the administrative shackles I'm going to play "What type of timber is this?"
With a difference. I know the answer.
The question is... Do You?

First person to tell me what it is can get a complementary sample pack... enough for a box say. All you'll have to do is pay the postage.

coachwood. not
You could sell it as coachwood and get away with it, (I have had this timber with a load of logs of Qld Maple from your way, I don't know what it is..... but a few boards have a happy home as coachwood somewhere in NSW) ..........but I'm not saying that's what it is.
BTW Thanks for all your comments on Boxed heart. We live in a different world in NSW, but still have the same dilemmas.

No multiple choice entries accepted, and you only get one shot at this.
If you don't want the sample pack I'll throw it up for auction here with the proceeds to go to a charity of your choice.

None of the above
@Greg Ward... the problem with the hardwood sawmillers is we're all too busy pissing on posts to mark our individual territories and fighting for share in a ever decreasing market. And it's always been an industry characterised by a lot of little mills and big egos. If there was ever a time we needed to pull together its now - but we're mostly that busy trying to survive we don't look at the bigger picture.
