Given the subject of the thread and his prefered power source, I'd say firing a boiler might be closer to the mark... but you'd need a boiler feed pump, wouldn't you?

    see, back on topic...

    Hi all,
no response from the bank yet but maybe today
I think Simon said it all in his post and perhaps that's what's so annoying. I will live in hope though.
The cold isn't so bad (I don't believe I actually said that ) but Gavin is right about a few of our nights lately. It does mean that everytime we go on holiday it is always going to be to a warmer climate, even if it is just down the road a bit
Funny you should say Ray as I had visions of a vertical boiler with a Weirs feed pump and vertical steam engine mounted on a mower deck...
Hopefully I will have some great news tonight.
    Thanks for the support guys.

How was the visit to the old pumping station museum ?

Must have been cold to have the gas burner running or was that ready for a metal burn

    Hi Baron,
It took a bit of surgery but thankfully it was only the UV filter that was destroyed with minimal damage to the mating thread on the lens.
I get an error message occasionally now but it resets when I pull the battery.

    Hi Ray,
In the meantime, I went to Mildura again only this time I was early enough to watch them start it.
I managed to get some footage. I'll post it in another thread when the computer gets set up.
Moved house this weekend. Well, house yesterday, workshop today. Only the lathe and shaper sitting alone at the moment.
With incredible amounts of luck I'll be doing it again in 60 days.
We have been assured the bank will tell us tomorrow. The 'not knowing' is killing me.

It takes a pretty serious problem for a knockback these days Phil. I feel for you tho and cannot wait to see and hear about the new location. I watched Tubalcain going on a road trip to buy a Vespa Scooter and other stuff, the last few days. The roadside view was mostly boring. You would expect that from the Mid West tho. Maybe you could do some road trips. All I ever seem to see is roos, but the area around me is beautiful all the same. Actually I think roos are a beautiful animal, except when wedged in the front of my car.

    Hi Phil,
I'm glad you got it fixed. I was going to suggest that it could have been just the filter that had gotten broken.
I did a similar thing with my old Polaroid camera, trapped it when slamming the van door. Luckily the threaded sleeve on mine was on the outside. But then the dam thing completely packed up a few weeks later.

    Hi Baron,
The only bad part of the damage was belting I got when I showed the missus.

    Hi Simon,
If we don't get the loan they might get a letter like that anyway lol

I have been assured we will find out today.
They have put an urgency notice on it.

This could be the kiss of death but we got the finance...they just need to send a representative out, pretty much for a 'drive by', I guess to make sure that there is actually a house to buy.

    Phil
ps fingers crossed he goes to the right address
