IAZ,P was so starved for wind all weekend, that out of frustration resorted to an alternative food source and ate Dave whole
And that's the way it was. At least that's MY story and I'm sticking to it. If Pat and Dave saw it differently, they'll have to tell you their side. But you heard it here first.

Looks like a great little event.
So what do you put your superior speed down to?You know you're making progress when there's sawdust in your coffee.

They seems to be in the wrong order.. You make it look as you were actually pulling ahead of the other boats....

OK, I guess I've let this farcical tale brew long enough.
As Marvin Gaye and CCR espoused: "believe only half of what you see, and none from what you hear."
While my "well documented" report surely appears to be fact, it is not. Just a random group of images placed in a contrived order to create a fabrication. As a matter of fact, during that time of the sail, we were getting run down.
The captains can tell you better than me, but it was so strange how at any given moment, one boat was significantly faster that the other two. Same tack, same course, same trim, yet one boat was steaming and the others seemed to luff along. It's a mystery.
In the end, the participants agreed that Paul should be awarded the burgee, but the details were not as glaring. All three goats are wonderful ships.
So the lesson is: don't believe everything you see, even if there are pictures. Propaganda is alive and well in this world.

This is great! Three Goats! GruffGruffGruff!
A largely windless albeit beautiful weekend all across the northeast. In Maine where I was, Penobscot Bay was a glass mirror, and Sunday was flukey at best down in MA. The cruising behind Plum Island in MA would be beautiful Goat Roping ground, with shallows and streams to follow.
Nicely done, fellas.

No error at all. But as Alan notes, we all had our moments of glory at different times.
All we can say for sure is that the gigantic Bolger was tamed by the light wind and we all had our way with her. But at 23' length and about 250 sq ft of sail area, we were lucky that the conditions did not play to her strengths.
C222, we missed you. But I feel confident that we'll sail together; SRR has been pushed higher on my bucket list now. Plus, a little bird tells me that Hammonasett is a strong contender for the next GGG.Dave
