I just came across this shop... http://www.ausee.com.au

    Anyone know anything about them?

I see they sell some stuff I have not seen for sale from an au seller but rather stuff I have had to buy from the UK like a 5C to er32 adapter...

And the John Stevenson line of tools..

    +1 Richard !!
I'm in love with the place, Pretty well all their tooling is much much cheaper than HF.
Quality is right on the money as well.
I had forgotten about this thread or I would have listed them earlier..
They are also the only place I have found that sell ER40 collet blocks, which is how I came across them in the first place..

Well I have my Ausee order in my hands....

The business was very prompt at sending it... It was sent the day after I ordered... They used a courier which is the reason it took so long for me to get it... I live outside of 99.999% of couriers delivery area and since there was no phone number on the package, it got stuck at the local depot.. I did not know it was coming by courier, I was thinking AU post...

Anyway after waiting for so long I rang Ausee, and within five minutes I had the courier name and tracking number.... Rang the courier and agreed to meet their driver as he drove past and picked it up.....

The package was packaged to survive an apocalyptic event... The goods seem to be of good quality.... What I would expect to get for the prices I paid...

I am quite happy and do expect to shop there again...

I suffer from the same problem .RC. Parcels are left by couriers at a town 60km away which we never visit if I use my home address. I always check unless it specifically says AusPost. I have an SA PO box, but most city based couriers will not deliver to PO boxes and a lot will not deliver to a Post Office. This is a store, liquor shop, post office, petrol station and the local courier delivery depot I am talking about. Now I just put the street address of the store and all is good. The parcel is delivered by local couriers and they always stop there anyway.

I had a phone call from a courier office a while ago that shocked me. The woman who rang asked me if I minded if they pass the parcel on to AusPost, as they had realised I lived outside their route. Of course I said no!

CTC has got a lot more expensive with shipping over time, really drives the price up.

Same here. I was after some Stevenson's ER32 Collet Blocks and discovered Ausee had the same blocks as Arc Euro Trade Ltd but at a better price. After dropping the hint to my wife before Christmas a package promptly arrived, so fast postage for sure.

I am also waiting on postage options from CDCO and will let everyone know how things go.

Just had an item sent from the US to me...

It was boxed in a medium flat rate box... price if left in that was US$61.75... The poster then put that box in another box and the price dropped to US$38.10.

Be wary that flat rate boxes are not the bees knees any more...

I have just placed an order with CDCO and was quoted US$60 per flat rate box up to 20 lbs. Frank maximised the packing to supposedly give me the best bang for buck, so we will see when they arrive.

If I was to post 10kg to the US using Australia post it would be about $114 so $60 US didn't appear over the top.

.RC. Was your US poster a tool supplier we should all know about? Anyone who can give a good deal with postage is good to know.

I will let everyone know when my packages from CDCO arrive and how close to the 20lbs they were.

Just a quick post about an order with CTC including the ER40 collets and nuts for my lathe collet chuck, when I get time to make it.

.RC. mentioned that CTC had upgraded their website, including the ability to choose surface mail online. This was after I put in my order tho, so I had to request a quote by email. In the reply I was warned that surface mail would take between 6 to 9 weeks. The order was made on 16/1/15, shipped on 17/1/15. I received it yesterday. I would say that was pretty quick.
