    Hello all,
Two years since I last posted can't believe it. Life sort of got in the way of the build but I took the last couple of weeks off work to get things done.
I've been slack in the photo department as well so there are some gaps in the process but I'll post a series of what I have.

Hope to launch in time for the 2015 Goolwa Wooden Boat Festival and enjoy sailing Quiet Time during some extended down time.

So here is the finished product as of today after bending the sails (if I can remember how to post a pic).
I'll search back to where I left off and post more.

    Cheers
    Mike

Looks fantastic. Enjoy sailing the boat. I am still sailing mine after 4 years and they are just easy fun boats to sail. Quick to rig and fast. Just take it easy as if you swamp them full of water they need to be dragged to shore and physically righted. The main position for potential swims are goose winged if you get a gust and the mizzen gybes and then takes over the steering. have had a half boat full of water from this, but still no capsizes to date. I have buoyancy that allows me to self right and a shock cord arrangement that allows bilge pump operation from the rail.

    Thanks Alex and Denis,
Small problem to overcome I came across today can't get the centre board into the slot think I've miscalculated the required length. So the board will need to be installed from the underside. Mmmm need to jack up the boat etc many slaves needed oh well.

Will be off to order a trailer next week centre board or not.

OK back to the build after a couple of years it's getting hard to remember exactly the sequence of events your honors but here goes.

Had a bit of help along the way. You will note the deck deposits obviously a critic.

    She looks simply amazing Mike.
How many pairs of hands do you estimate you'll need to get the board into the case?
Got to be in Nairne mid-late afternoon Sat, but before then or afternoon Sun or sometime Mon would be ok.
    cheers

Thanks for the offer Alan, unfortunately be away this weekend but will give you a yell next week. Been pondering a procedure and think I have come up with a cunning plan.

BTW been doing some catching in here how is your project coming along speedier than mine I hope.

    Cheers

My centreboard is aluminium with a visible wood top edge and has to go in from the bottom. It has a L shaped slot so with the board with the leading edge vertical it clips in and over the fixed pivot pin. As the board then swings into position it becomes unable to slide forward and cannot disengage itself from the pin. I then have a 6mm control rope with a stopper knot at the right spot and a 6mm slot at the back of the case top cover. And then a turks head so the rope cant slip accidentally and let the board swing past normal by more than a short distance so the board cant lever and damage the case nor fall out. I also have a short length of pvc tube between the turks head and the board. This slides down over the stopper knot and fits into the case between the board and the case top cover so it all looks normal but the board can be locked down for safety and righting the boat or removed easily for beaching.

To fit the board put the main mast in get some carpet/foam or an old mattess or a soft sand beach then get the wife to pull the boat over while fitting the board. Hopefully there is sufficient trust. If the mast breaks then it wasn't going to last while sailing with you and a crew or even just you on board. This is how I do it. Its also easier to slide the board in rather than lift it over your head.
