Ray, in a Japanese language forum I found a reference: "Yamato Koki Mfg Co Ltd was once located in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo Nishigotanda 6-24-11. Their Brand name was "NEWS". They went bankrupt a few years ago. That is, around 2002 or 2003" Another reference to rotary tables mentions that they made this brand for Yuasa, I guess that's the one you found.
    Cheers,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

This thread on PM was where I picked up Yuasa.. http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb...resser-293486/ I think NEWS and Yamatokoki are brands that preceeded Yuasa.

I had seen that too. But could not find out what brand it is. There is a D cast into the handle at the side, but then the handle could be from another machine. Motor, clapper box and vise are missing. And it appears there is a chunk broken off the round "flange" where the clapper box would mount to.

It also looks to have a crack in the casting under the table from behind the table all the way to the front of the base. I could be wrong, But it's what it looks like.
In my opinion (which prob isn't worth much) it is worth scrap weight.

Did you nick Stuarts superpower Matt? It's not really much good for anything the way it is.

    Default Hercus lathe milling slide

Hi all I currently have a fabricated milling slide to fit Hercus lathes on gumtree. Its not as good as an original hercus unit but may suit someone to do small jobs. Located Adelaide weighs about 10 kg so post should be ok. I have $150 on it but willing to trade for small lathe or mill tooling. cheers
