I'm back.....I think.
G'day to everyone and a special thanks to those who have sent me your kind words of support during some of my toughest times.
While my progress is slow.....nothing much has changed there...lol....I have been getting back out into the shed lately and actually making progress on my bench.
As is standard with anything I try to do, it's all just coming together as I think of it, but at least I am happy to report that I AM making progress in every endeavour, and I have all of you to thank for keeping me at it.
With a little luck and fair winds, I might even have a progress pic or two very shortly.
Thank you again one and all for your unswerving support.
Cheers,
Bob

I think so too!
Yes, you are back, and a big welcome back to boot!
Looking forward to your progress photos.
It is great to get stuck into a project that is nearing completion, the end result is getting closer and closer.

A great feeling
Thanks Danny,
I suppose I could sweep up all the shavings and take a pic or two, but there isn't a real lot to show as I've been taking it slow, plus the weather here has been as miserable as I've been feeling so we're a great match...lol.
What I've been trying to do before I put the final layer on top of the bench (approx 30mm solid door) is to make a few hidden drawers that will go underneath the top. This will obviously necessitate a couple of hinged lids to access the boxes I'm making up to sit between the frames of the bench, but I'm slowly getting my head around these little problems as I progress.
With the constant rain and cold here lately, I've been staying in the house and sitting on the floor in front of the fire while I use my Veritas sharpening jig and different grades of paper then water stones to sharpen up my chisels and planes, so I'm not completely idle.
I'll see what I can do about a few pics for you guys. You deserve something for standing by me and supporting me during my down time so it's the least I can do.
Cheers,
Bob

G'day Everyone,
I want to thank you all so very much for your unswerving support and the strength you've given me to get back into my shed and become productive once again. The PM's have been particularly touching and encouraging, so to those members too, I thank you so very much. You know who you are and along with everyone here, I am proud to call you all my friends.
While the Black Dog is still nipping at my heels, I am finally making ground. This week has been quite a turn around for me as I'm now under the care of a new Dr and things are looking a lot brighter. While there will be some tough days ahead as I struggle with the new regimen set out for me, I feel very positive in myself that there is finally a light at the end of what has been for me, a very long and dark tunnel.
I've been dusting off my tools and machines and am slowly making progress on my bench build, but things are never as simple as just throwing four legs and a top together and calling it done. I'm too disorganised for things to come together that easy, but it's great to hear the whine of the saws and even just the feel of wiping glue from my fingers onto my shirt is a great achievement.
I will try hard to show you some progress pics as soon as I can manage it......I owe you all that much at least.
Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart, and with your continued support and encouragement, I hope to once again become a more regular and contributing member real soon.
Yours Always,
Bob

Still hanging on.
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to let those who are interested, know that I'm still hanging in there, but only by the skin of my teeth.
I have a big (dreaded and unwanted) event happening next week which has me virtually sick to my stomach while waiting for the day to come....the 5th of August.
I won't go into any details right now as it's too upsetting to even think about and all I can say is that I can't wait for it all to be done and dusted.
I thought I still had some of my old "new" bench pics that I could post, but I seem to have used them all up. When the sawdust has settled and I can finally return to my previous miserable existence, I'll actually be happy to see that day come around.
So until then I shall leave you wonderful people with a promise to have some actual progress pics as soon as I am up to it.
Until then,
Bob
